Attending a workshop can be scary.  The idea of walking into a strange place filled with strangers, led by some strange guy (me) who might ask you to do something you don't want to; should bring about some fear.  I strive to make my workshops a safe place so I won't ask you to do anything you don't feel comfortable doing.

My workshops are geared toward learning practical skills but the real gold in the workshop experience is to witness and to be witnessed.  Our suffering connects us.  When we watch others struggle, we see ourselves.  We recognize that we aren't so strange,  that our plight is not so out of the ordinary.  In this, our experiences and our struggles are normalized and our healing can begin.

 

Couples Communication Workshop

The couples coaching workshop is essentially the same curriculum as the Couples Communication Workshop, however Couples Coaching is stretched out over an eight week period and is much more personalized and in depth because it is not in a group setting.   Our time together will give you tools you can quickly implement in your relationships to deepen connection, decrease anger and overreactions, resolve conflict, end repetitive patterns, and better control emotional outbursts.  The length of the workshop allows you time to work on and become proficient in the skills that this workshop offers.

One day PREMARITAL WORKSHOP

You've picked the place, ordered the invitations, booked the band and bought the dress.  You've prepared everything for your big day but how have you prepared your relationship?  Most couples think about all the joy a wedding can bring, few prepare for the stress of marriage.  I help couples prepare their relationship for marriage.  In my experience as a couples therapist, the most successful couples are the ones who build good habits early.  Many couples come to me after the resentment and anger have set in leaving what I call "scar tissue" in their relationship.  This one day premarital workshop gives you the skills necessary to start your marriage out on the right foot.  It is also a good diagnostic tool to tell couples if they might need further premarital or couples counseling.

Anger Management ONE day Workshop

This one day anger management workshop is heavily skill-based and is designed to give you the techniques and practices necessary to effectively confront the anger issues in your life.  If you frequently lose control of your anger, become frustrated easily or if people close to you describe you as an angry person; this workshop is for you.

  • How to "turn the volume up" on the negative thinking and inner story telling that leads to anger
  • Body centered exercises and meditative practices designed to slow you down

Anger Management Group

This 10 week anger management group for men and women focuses on the parts of us that become triggered when we are angry.  If you have difficulty managing your anger, have frequent fits of rage or difficulty controlling your frustration; my 10 week anger management course is designed for you. This skill-based program gives you the tools and techniques to gain control of your anger, insight into how and why your anger works and the ability to communicate the feelings that live beneath your anger in a healthy and effective way.

  • What happens in your body when you become angry
  • The skills and techniques necessary to gain control of your anger
  • How to change the situations and relationships in your life that may be causing your anger
